When I think of my life’s journey
every event in retrospect
had infinite potential
but it led me to this one breath.
The odds of us crossing paths
and meeting the exact way we met
was virtually impossible
it all had to line up so perfect.
And now my heart flutters
to the beat of the butterfly effect
because I can’t help but believe
this universe has a divine depth.
For so long we were in separate places
but we shared the same chrysalis
while I was getting better
you were becoming your best.
Teach me about your previous life
and I’ll take it from here for the rest
now it’s our beautiful life
as we emerge from metamorphosis.

I am more than enough

I would go on untethered
bound to no such rotation
if it weren’t for you

at the perfectly right time;
whether you are ready or not
is just a state of mind.

everything always makes sense

I didn’t need the unequivocal reciprocation from the stars
to feel that motivating spark
all I needed was a feeling
then I ran like the wind.

Nothing mutual was necessary when I decided to run
I felt compelled and that was enough
ambivalence nor rejection mattered
I ran, and rewards came after.

That path was everything because that path was my point of view
I ran a marathon not because the stars told me to
but because they lit up the dark
even when I could not.

Something beautiful happened during those simple, naive days
I didn’t realize, but I won before the end of the race
I aimed to be like the stars early on
but that spark was in me all along.

The Concept of Destiny

To those of you who do not believe in destiny, please take a moment and turn your attention to what you are grateful for. Grateful for a friend in your life? Think about the fact that you met this person, remember that there is literally an infinite amount of circumstances in the universe that could have prevented you two from meeting. You could go on forever and still never compile a complete list of all potential occurrences that could have happened to prevent the occurrence that you are grateful for. The fact that your life has unfolded in the way that it has is truly remarkable beyond anything you’ll ever be able to wholly fathom. How could you not believe you were meant to be here? How could you not believe that your story was meant to transpire exactly as it has? You are miraculous, and everything wonderful in your life is miraculous.
